Big Reading Group

Have you ever fancied trying out a reading group? Well now you can, thanks to The Three Lochs Book and Arts Festival which will be hosting its very own, one-off reading group session.

To join in, just read one - or both - of the following books over the summer:

Contemporary choice
Kim Edwards, The Memory Keeper's Daughter
Find a copy here:
Highland Libraries' copies / Green Metropolis / Waterstones

Classic choice
Harper Lee, To Kill A Mockingbird

All you have to do then is come along to the Sunart Centre on Saturday, 18th September at 2.30pm, get together over a coffee and cake and have a natter about the books.

Strontian Reading Group will host this year’s event and all are welcome.

Hope to see you there!

Programme latest!

The Three Lochs Festival committee are delighted to be able to announce some of the attractions at this year's festival.

Our special guest writer is the internationally-acclaimed Alexander McCall Smith, author of the best-selling "Number One Ladies' Detective Agency" series, who'll be reading some of his work and taking part in a Q&A session chaired by Ardgour's own Mary Ann Kennedy.

We've also managed to secure a live-web link with Hollywood director Will Geiger (Free Willy: Escape From Pirate's Cove) ahead of the showing of his 2007 hit, Elvis and Annabelle.

Poetry and writing workshops will form the backbone of Saturday's programme whilst both primary and secondary schools will have events specially geared for them on the Thursday and Friday. Youngsters will also have the chance to join in with a special drop-in arts session on Saturday afternoon, organised by Fort William's Room 13 community art group.

Refreshments and food will be available throughout the festival with the focus firmly on the very best of local produce, so we're delighted to be taking part in this year's Scottish Food and Drink Fortnight which will give local producers the chance to showcase what they have to offer.

Further details of the Film Society's selections and programme can be found here and all the latest information on the Flash Fiction competition is at the competitions page.

All of these events will take place in the Sunart Centre.
